GENERATOR SELECTION
The selection of a power generator requires a decision based upon engine speed verses noise, weight and cost. |

| A slow speed machine is more readily silenced since its bulk is only partially used for power generation. |
|
| High speed generators are superior in terms of electrical starting power, power to weight ratio and price. Most high speed diesels are more fuel efficient which makes them more “environmentally friendly”. |
